Participants can submit ideas through an online form until June 30, 2011. Two winners will be selected — one from the resident/fellow or medical student category and one from the physician category. The winners will each receive $2,500 in cash and prizes, as well as a trip for two to New Orleans for the grand unveiling of their winning idea at the Nov. 2011 AMA meeting.

The contest announcement follows the release of the AMA’s first-ever app for physicians to quickly find CPT billing codes. The app is available for free through the iTunes store.
