AHIP Joins Coalition for ICD-10

The American Health Insurance Plans joined the Coalition for ICD-10.

The Coalition for ICD-10 is an alliance of healthcare providers, professional association, coding experts, vendors, technology companies and other stakeholders supporting ICD-10 implementation in the United States. The Coalition supports the transition to more specific codes that can improve quality, public health surveillance, clinical research and healthcare payment.

The ICD-10 full transition was originally scheduled for Oct. 1, 2014, but was recently delayed by Congress.
