AHIMA responds to physician groups’ demand for ICD-10 contingency plans

The American Medical Association and 99 physician groups sent a letter to CMS last week calling for contingency plans to be put in place. The American Health Information Management Association responded that physician groups’ concerns are unfounded, according to an iHealthBeat report.

AHIMA found the letter to be encouraging, as it indicates physicians are preparing for the Oct. 1 implementation deadline, but the recent CMS testing period demonstrates the agency’s readiness.
