KAA serves more than 25,000 cases each year and could no longer handle its own billing operations, which the company previously managed through its own proprietary billing company. KAA employs 25 physician partners and 68 full- and part-time certified registered nurse anesthetists.
Teaming up with Zotec will allow the partners to keep anesthesia operations separate from billing to properly comply with HIPAA and healthcare reforms, according to KAA’s Vice President Brad Egbert, MD.
