Here are six insights:
1. Between February and April 2016, 24 million Americans lacked health insurance.
2. Hispanics, people with low incomes and young adults represent the most common uninsured groups.
3. Of those 24 million, 88 percent were Hispanic, younger than 35 years, earned less than $16,243 annually and/or worked for a small business.
4. More than half of America’s uninsured adults reside in one of the 20 states that did not expand Medicaid. Of the uninsured Americans, 51 percent lived in a state without Medicaid expansion.
5. The report found 85 percent of the uninsured said they couldn’t find an affordable health plan.
