42% of Americans blame healthcare costs, access as main issues — 5 takeaways

‘Costs’ beat out ‘access’ in this year’s Nov. 4 to Nov. 8 Gallup poll about urgent healthcare problems plaguing the country, according to Gallup. Gallup polled a random selection of 1,021 adults, 18-years-old or older.

Obesity and cancer top the list of major healthcare problems for 14 percent of Americans polled. Less than 1 percent of Americans cite Ebola as a major concern in 2015, compared to 17 percent in 2014. All other problems, like cancer, mental illness and AIDs, didn’t receive more than 2 percent of votes.
