Three ways to improve billing performance:

1. Keep staff up to date. BIlling codes, along with other regulations, change frequently. Keeping staff aware of these changes can be done through revenue cycle resources, medical societies and vendors.

2. Analyze logs. Rejected claims logs can reveal trends in the types of claims denied and inefficiencies within the billing office

3. Cross-train staff. Training multiple employees on how to perform billing office duties ensures everything runs smoothly when billing staff is out.
