Three tips on filing claims:
1. Be familiar with managed care contracts’ filing deadlines.
2. Be aware of why and how claims may be delayed. These issues may be caused by delays in receiving operating notes, short staffing situations and clearinghouses not being checked for accepted or rejected claims.
3. Contracts that have short filing deadlines can be revisited and renegotiated.
