3 steps to boosting clean ASC claims

ASCs can improve their claims process and achieve clean claims by holding staff accountable and changing processes, according to ASC software company Surgical Information Systems.

1. Set a goal for 100 percent clean claims. ASC staff should understand the importance of striving for 100 percent clean claims — the more often claims aren’t denied, the more revenue an ASC can bring in.

2. Make clean claims a team effort. ASC staff who work well together and communicate well are more successful in achieving a high rate of clean claims, according to Surgical Information Systems.

3. Be ready to change. Revising processes is critical to keeping up with changing payer guidelines. Staff should also be ready to change policies if there’s potential to improve them.
