10 states with the biggest drop in uninsured rates

Medicaid expansion played a key role in providing Americans more coverage, with states that expanded the program yielding the highest reduction in uninsured rates from 2013 to 2016.

Gallup data lists the following 10 states with the biggest drop in uninsured rates in the aforementioned time frame.

1. Kentucky: 12.6 percent
2. Arkansas: 12.3 percent
3. West Virginia: 11.5 percent
4. New Mexico: 11.2 percent
5. California: 11.1 percent
6. Oregon: 10.3 percent
7. Washington: 9.6 percent
8. Arizona: 9.4 percent
9. Montana: 9.4 percent
10. Louisiana: 9.2 percent
