What you need to know about AAAHC's orthopedic certification

In the increasingly crowded healthcare market, the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care is offering a new way for ASCs to stand out. AAAHC recently announced an orthopedic certification program for ASCs to denote high quality of care and compliance.

The group is offering accredited centers a chance to earn certification as a Center of Excellence in Orthopedics.

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality anticipates that joint replacement procedure demand will grow at unprecedented rates in the near future. AAAHC developed a certification in response to the requests of AAAHC-accredited centers.

During an upcoming webinar, Meena Desai, MD, an anesthesiologist and chair of AAAHC's orthopedic certification technical panel, and Troy Sparks, BSN, RN, CNOR, AmSurg's regional vice president, total joint program coordinator, will discuss the certification program, elaborate on the differences between certification and accreditation as well as review the different levels of certification and standards.

The webinar is scheduled for Dec. 14, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. CST. To register, click here.
