Valley Baptist Medical Center earns Joint Commission seal: 3 things to know

Brownsville, Texas-based Valley Baptist Medical Center was recertified by the Joint Commission for its knee and hip replacement program, the Valley Morning Staralley Morning Star reports.

Here’s what you should know.

1. The center has 39 rooms on its orthopedic floors, with nurses trained in care plans designed for the orthopedic patients.

2. The center holds preoperative educational camps with each patient to educate and prepare them for their upcoming surgery.

3. Pain management and psychological management are both large parts of the centers treatment plans.
