Surgery Center of South Central Kansas gets accreditation: 4 key notes

The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care granted accreditation to the Surgery Center of South Central Kansas.

Here are four quick notes:

 1. There are four physicians associated with the center: Douglas A. Friesen, MD, Brian H. Strange, MD, Esther V. Rettig, MD, and Mark L. Wellemeyer, MD.

 2. The physicians cover cataract surgeries, intraocular lens implants, epidural steroid injections, facet joint injections and sacroiliac injections among other procedures.

 3. The ASC opened in 1997 and was the first eye surgery center in Hutchinson, Kan.

The facility includes a YAG laser, fluoroscopy C-arm and Leica Microscope.
