Operating room staff members at 63 Veterans Affairs hospitals were surveyed using the Safety Attitude questionnaire before and after they went through a team training program about staff communication. Of the 64 hospitals, 26 hospitals demonstrated changes in staff members’ attitudes and perceptions of patient safety. Improvement in “perceptions of management” was most common among the 26 hospitals.
