Patient Safety Experts Develop, Test Operating Room Crisis Checklists

Patient safety experts have developed checklists to address the most frequently occurring operating room crises and tested their effectiveness, according to an AORN report and an abstract of the study, which is published in the August issue of the Journal of the American College of Surgeons.

 

The study concluded that "checklist use can improve safety and management in operating room crises."
