Last month, the department investigated CRMC after two patient deaths and released its findings, blaming low staffing levels as the cause of two deaths, according to earlier reports.

Since then, the hospital provided additional medical records and other documentation, and the health department concluded the patients’ deaths were, in fact, not caused by staffing issues. In addition, health officials accepted CRMC’s corrective action plan, which was drafted in response to the health department’s report.
According to the hospital statement, health officials also conducted surveys of CRMC every day since Aug. 19 and have not cited the hospital for any patient safety deficiencies.
