Georgia hospital earns ‘Gold Seal’ in 3 orthopedic areas

St. Mary’s Hospital received The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for three procedures, the Athens Banner-Herald reports.

St. Mary’s achieved two-year certification for total hip replacement, total knee replacement and spine surgery after an on-site review earlier this year. The Athens, Ga.-based hospital previously received certification for knee replacement in 2008, spine surgery in 2011 and hip replacement in 2015.

St. Mary’s is one of St. Mary’s Healthcare System’s three hospitals in Athens, Greensboro and Lavonia, all in Georgia.
