The Joint Commission, American College of Radiology and Intersociety Accreditation Commission are CMS approved to accredit advanced diagnostic imaging services, but the GAO found significant differences in the standards of the three organizations.
The GAO asserts that CMS should develop an oversight framework and establish minimum national standards.
