Foundation Surgical Hospital of San Antonio becomes region’s 1st to earn bariatric designation

Foundation Surgical Hospital of San Antonio (Texas) was designated a Comprehensive Bariatric Surgery Center with Adolescent Qualifications.

What you should know:

1. The 20-bed Foundation Surgical Hospital of San Antonio is now the only hospital in the area to earn the designation. The facility boasts a 4:1 patient-to-nurse ratio.

2. The Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program awarded the designation to the hospital March 5.

3. The accreditation and quality program is run by the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
