Members of American Society of Plastic Surgeons Launches Ad Cooperative to Educate Public About Unqualified Physicians

Six members of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons have formed an advertising cooperative to educate the public of the risks they take by choosing unqualified professionals to perform cosmetic plastic surgery, according to a news release.

The formation of the advertising cooperative comes soon after USA Today reported stories of patients who experienced adverse outcomes, including death, following cosmetic surgery performed at certain plastic surgery clinics.

The cooperative will launch a TV campaign and a website to help inform the public about the risks of undergoing cosmetic surgery performed by unqualified physicians in non-accredited office facilities.
