1. The award recognizes accredited facilities for “exemplary quality improvement studies in the areas of primary care and surgical/procedural care.”

2. The award is in honor of Bernard A. Kershner, a distinguished past Chair of the AAAHC Institute Board of Trustees and an ambulatory health care leader.

3. AAAHC recognized the organizations at the 2017 Achieving Accreditation conference March 18 in Tampa, Fla.

4. AAAHC invited accredited facilities to submit detailed quality improvement studies. Judges identified finalists before selecting the honorees.
