SPH Analytics awards Pocono Ambulatory Surgery Center National APEX Quality Award: 3 things to know

SPH Analytics awarded Stroudsburg, Pa.-based Pocono Ambulatory Surgery Center one of its 2015-2016 National APEX Quality Award, the Pocono Record reports.

Here’s what you should know.

1. SPH Analytics awards the honor to the highest performing healthcare entity in a peer grouping. SPH Analytics selects winners via patient satisfaction scores.

More than 800 facilities were eligible for the award, but only 78 received it.

2. The ASC opened in 1986 and now caters to several specialties including gastrointestinal, gynecological and neurological.

3. The center employs 22 registered nurses, a practical nurse, eight surgical techs, two support staff and 10 administrative staff members. The center has a physicians group affiliate with more than 40 members.
