1. The center was founded in 1997 by the East Bay Nephrology Medical Group and operated as an inpatient facility in the Alta Bates Medical Center in Berkeley, Calif.
2. On Sept. 9, 2003, the center opened a freestanding outpatient facility in Oakland, Calif.
3. The dialysis center has 11 physicians on staff and is led by President Ellen Morrissey.
