The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care granted accreditation to three AmSurg-affiliated centers after successful surveys earlier this year. The surgery centers are:
1. Center for Digestive Endoscopy in Orlando, focused on providing colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy and upper endoscopy. There are five physicians involved in the center.
2. East Valley Endoscopy in Mesa, Ariz., a free-standing ASC owned and operated by Digestive Disease Consultants. The center participated in the National Survey of Ambulatory Surgery in 2006 and includes six physicians.
3. Galloway Surgery Center in Miami, which includes multiple GI endoscopy procedure rooms and recovery bays for colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidosocpy and upper endoscopy. The center includes 10 physicians.
