Here are eight more statistics on ambulatory surgery center outcomes from the ASC Association's Outcomes Monitoring Project 2nd Quarter (April-June) 2011 Report, which saw more than 600 ASCs participating in the survey. We previously published seven statistics from the report.
1. 71.9% of responding ASCs reported more than 6.1 paid clinical, non-physician hours per patient encounter.
2. 56.2% of responding ASCs reported days in accounts receivable of less than 35.4 days.
3. 97.3% of responding ASCs reported no wrong site, side, procedure, implant, patient surgeries per 1,000 patient encounters.
4. 94.2% of responding ASCs reported no medical device failure per 1,000 patient encounters.

5. 95.2% of responding ASCs reported experiencing no incidents of cardiac and/or respiratory arrest per 1,000 patient encounters.
6. 89.4% of responding ASCs reported physician ownership.
7. ASCs reported an average procedure room use rate of 36.0%.
8. 99.5% of ASCs reported conducting a patient satisfaction survey.
