The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care released a report that includes the "do's" and "don'ts" for complying with manufacturers' instructions for use.
Here are six key notes to remember:
1. Do intentionally store MIU above or next to relevant equipment.
2. Do ensure you have the most updated version of the MIU posted.
3. Do facilitate user competence to monitor instructions are followed.
4. Don't store the MIU in locked administrative offices or other areas where they’re inaccessible to users.
5. Don't assume user competence; evaluate it.
