4 Eligibility Criteria for Joint Commission Ambulatory Care Accreditation

According to the 2014 Ambulatory Care Accreditation Overview, for an ambulatory care organization to be eligible for Joint Commission accreditation, it must:

•    Offer services addressed by The Joint Commission’s Ambulatory Care standards.
•    Provide patient care lasting less than 24 hours.
•    Is in the United States or its territories or, if outside the United States, is operated by the U.S. government or under a charter of the U.S. Congress.
•    Prior to the survey has served a minimum of three patients, with one active patient at the time of survey.
