10 new appointments for Joint Commission boards, executive committee

The Joint Commission appointed new members of the Board of Commissioners and Executive Committee and the Joint Commission Center for Transforming Healthcare’s Board of Directors.

1. The Joint Commission President and CEO Mark R. Chassin, MD, now sits on the Joint Commission Center for Transforming Healthcare’s board of directors.

The new members of the Board of Commissioners are:

2. Joan Shinkus Clark, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, CENP, FACHE, FAAN, senior vice president and system chief nurse executive at Texas Health Resources, Dallas-Fort Worth. She was appointed by the American Hospital Association.

3. Marie Knedler, RN, MS, MBA, FACHE, president of Catholic Health Initiatives Health Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She was appointed by AHA.

4. Carlos A. Pellegrini, MD, FACS, FRCSI, the Henry N. Harkins professor and chair of the department of surgery at the University of Washington in Seattle. The American College of Surgeons appointed him.
