Vanderbilt University Medical Center Appoints Dr. Katherine Dobie Chief of Ambulatory Anesthesia Division

Nashville, Tenn.-based Vanderbilt University Medical Center has appointed Katherine Dobie, MD, chief of the division of ambulatory anesthesia, according to a Nashville Ledger report.

The division was formed in 2008 to provide anesthesia for VUMC satellite locations, including three surgery centers. Shannon Hersey, MD, previously served as the division chief and will now be the medical director of anesthesia operations at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, according to the report.

Dr. Dobie previously served as medical director of Vanderbilt Bone & Joint Surgery Center.
