Hackensack, N.J.-based Olena Medical is promoting its physician-led anesthesia model as a staffing and coverage partner for ASCs, according to an Oct. 23 news release.

The anesthesia services organization said it works with ASC leaders to match anesthesia coverage to each facility’s clinical needs, scheduling demands and goals. The company named staffing problems, scheduling disruptions and uneven coverage as threats to operating room efficiency, surgeon satisfaction and patient access.

The release said Olena’s model relies on communication, staffing coordination and close work with surgeons and administrators. The company builds its approach on four core values: service, professionalism, integrity and leadership.

“Our vision extends beyond growth,” said Mrinal Agrawal, MD, chief medical officer of Olena Medical. “We are building a model that supports clinicians, improves facility performance, and ultimately elevates the patient experience.”

Founder and CEO Harshu Chaobal leads the company. Olena said its leadership treats anesthesia delivery as both a clinical responsibility and a business that depends on workforce planning and responsive management.

Olena Medical aims to become a trusted anesthesia partner for ASCs as more procedures move to outpatient settings.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
