Southern Medical Association names anesthesiologist Dr. Mark Williams president

Southern Medical Association named Mark S. Williams, MD, a trained anesthesiologist, president for 2014 to2015, according to an Al.com report.

Dr. Williams currently serves as chief physician executive for Tenet Healthcare and Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham, Ala. He has previously served as CMO of the North Mississippi Health System based in Tupelo. He was also a clinical associate professor for the University of Alabama’s department of anesthesiology in Birmingham, and he has been an oral examiner for the American Board of Anesthesiology for almost 20 years, according to the report.
