Retired anesthesiologist David Lober runs for First Selectman seat: 4 things to know

Retired anesthesiologist David Lober, MD, made his bid for Woodbridge, Conn.’s First Selectman position, Bethwood Patch reports.

Here’s what you should know.

1. Dr. Lober, formerly of the Temple Surgical Center in New Haven, Conn., is running against Republican Board of Selectmen member Joe Dey. Board of Selectmen member Tony Anastasio and Spencer Rubin, an alternate on the zoning board of appeals, are also in the running.

2. Mr. Dey is seeking a third time on the Board of Selectmen.

3. Dr. Lober said on his nomination, “It is a tremendous honor for me to have been selected as a nominee for the Board of Selectmen. … I will campaign with enthusiasm and, if elected, work diligently in the best interest of the town.”

4. The Woodbridge municipal election is May 1, 2017.

5. Selectmen operate in a similar fashion to town’s boardmen.
