Here’s what you should know:

1. Touch Track is a web application that uses real-time EMR information and anesthesia documentation systems to provide patient status before, during and after an operation to both operating room staff and patient families.

2. Touch Track provides OR staff with information about case times. The application allows for simplified communication between OR staff.

3. Plexus Technology’s Group Vice President of Technology Doug Marcey said in a release that Touch Track provides the perioperative space with “unique functionality.”

He said, “Touch Track provides incredible insight into what’s going on in the perioperative environment right now. This represents some of the unique functionality we can provide in the perioperative space because we capture structured information from so many sources, from our library of interfaces to our proven charting user interface.”

4. The web application also can provide patient’s families with anonymized case status updates. Patient-facing staff can check progress, or a family can view the board directly and anonymously.
