2. He earned his medical degree from Morgantown-based University of West Virginia. He completed an anesthesiology residency at Atlanta-based Emory University School of Medicine and a fellowship at Charlottesville-based University of Virginia.
3. Dr. Ahmed began his career as an anesthesiologist in South Boston, Va.-based Halifax Regional Hospital before becoming an attending physician in interventional pain management and general anesthesiology at University of Florida School of Medicine Shands Jacksonville (Fla.) Hospital.
