Anesthesia Group of Albany (N.Y.), has disclosed a data breach that exposed patients’ personal and medical information, according to a notice filed with the Vermont Attorney General’s office Aug. 7.
The anesthesia practice reported that exposed data may include patients’ names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses and government identification numbers. Medical information compromised in the breach includes health insurance ID numbers, medical record numbers, diagnoses, treatment histories, medications and provider names, along with financial information.
The practice has not publicly disclosed how many individuals were affected, when the breach occurred or when it was discovered. Anesthesia Group of Albany provides general and regional anesthesia services for endoscopic, cardiac, orthopedic, pediatric, obstetric, cosmetic and general surgical procedures.
