New owner lists disbanded anesthesia group's building on Airbnb — 5 must-know details

After disbanding in late 2018, Olean, N.Y.-based Southern Tier Anesthesiologists sold its property to new owners who plan to rent it out on Airbnb, the Olean Times Herald reports.

What you should know:

1. The provider's building was sold to Barry Street Partners, an entity formed by members of a local family with ties to former STA President Stephen Carlson, MD. The sale closed in early February.

2. Principle David Dozier declined to tell the Olean Times Herald how much Barry Street Partners paid for the property, but a realtor had listed the home for $150,000 — two times what STA paid in 2009.

STA restored the Victorian-style building after purchasing it, Mr. Dozier told the Olean Times Herald.

3. In March, Barry Street Partners will begin renting out the building's third-floor loft through Airbnb. The first two floors will be leased to businesses.

4. STA disbanded after Olean General Hospital decided to end its 24-year relationship with the anesthesia provider. Buffalo, N.Y.-based Great Lakes Anesthesiology replaced STA as OGH's anesthesia provider beginning Jan. 1.

5. Three of STA's six physicians reportedly now work at UPMC Cole in Coudersport, Pa.
