Paul Pomerantz, CEO of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, was named the 2016 treasurer of the National Health Council.

1. The National Health Council provides a united voice for people with chronic diseases and disabilities and their caregivers.
2. The council is comprised of more than 100 national health-related organizations and businesses.
3. The NHC board of directors will focus on a number of policy issues, including strengthening the health insurance marketplaces to protect people with chronic conditions.
