Des Moines, Iowa-based MercyOne Medical Center announced plans to end its partnership with anesthesia services provider Medical Center Anesthesiologists on May 15. Now, the system has chosen a new partner.

MercyOne has partnered with California-based physician group Vituity, which will provide anesthesia care at all of MercyOne’s central Iowa and Des Moines-based locations, according to a May 23 report from the Des Moines Register.

The new anesthesia partnership will begin May 31. Vituity currently has 6,000 providers at 690 locations nationwide, providing anesthesiology, emergency medicine, critical care and psychiatry. Other major Vituity partners include Michigan-based Trinity Health.

“MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center is committed to providing exceptional care and experience to our patients. Following extensive discussions with Medical Center Anesthesiologists, it has become necessary to transition to a new partner for anesthesia services in Des Moines,” a MercyOne spokesperson told WHO 13. “We welcome MCA clinicians to continue to provide services through a new relationship.”
