MEDNAX Boosts Earnings 27% in Q3, Acquires 2 Anesthesia Practices in 4Q

MEDNAX boosted its earnings 27 percent in the third quarter, as the company continued growth in neonatal, maternal-fetal, pediatric and anesthesia physician services, according to a South Florida Business Journal report.

The group, based in Sunrise, Fla., reported a net income of $61.3 million, or $1.29 per share, on net patient service revenue of $351.1 million in the third quarter. That revenue is improved from the same period last year.

The company realized a 5.2 percent boost in revenue from medical practice acquisitions. The group acquired two anesthesia practices — Greensboro Anesthesia Physicians and Southeast Anesthesiology Consultants — in the fourth quarter.
