Mednax Acquires Florida Atlantic Anesthesia

Mednax today announced the acquisition of Florida Atlantic Anesthesia, a physician group practice that provides anesthesia services in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Founded in 1998, Florida Atlantic Anesthesia consists of 24 anesthesiologists and five full-time anesthetists. The practice provides anesthesia services in cardiology, orthopedics, endoscopy procedures and plastic surgery at Holy Cross Hospital and Holy Cross HealthPlex in Fort Lauderdale.

The physicians of Florida Atlantic Anesthesia will join Mednax’s American Anesthesiology division, which includes more than 1,000 anesthesia providers across the U.S. Alan Cordover, MD, will serve as the medical director of the American Anesthesiology practice.
