MEDNAX acquires Associated Anesthesiologists: 5 key points

MEDNAX has acquired the Reno, Nev.-based anesthesiology practice Associated Anesthesiologists, according to Yahoo! Finance.

Here are five key points:

1. Associated Anesthesiologists provides orthopedic, obstetric, pediatric and critical anesthesia care, among other subspecialty areas.

2. It employs 56 anesthesiologists, making it the largest anesthesia practice in northern Nevada.

3. The practice’s anesthesiologists practice at the Reno-based Renown Regional Medical Center, the Gardnerville, Nev.-based Carson Valley Medical Center and various ASCs.

4. MEDNAX has already acquired nine physician practices this year, including Associated Anesthesiologists.

5. Almost 86 percent of MEDNAX’s revenue growth from the second quarter of this year has come from its recent acquisitions.
