Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic Health System added anesthesiologist Nicole Varela, MD, to its teams in Albert Lea, Minn., and Austin, Minn., in late August, the Albert Lea Tribune reports.

1. Dr. Varela earned her medical degree from Huntington, W.Va.-based Marshall University.
2. She completed residencies in anesthesia and internal medicine at Rochester-based Mayo Clinic School of Medicine.
3. Dr. Varela is board-certified in anesthesia and internal medicine.
