A majority of anesthesiologists believe that marijuana should be legalized, according to a Medscape Anesthesiologist Lifestyle Report 2015.

When asked whether the legalization of marijuana is a good idea, anesthesiologists reported:

Those who have used marijuana:

•    No, not ever — 4 percent
•    No, not at this time — 14 percent
•    Yes, but only for medicinal purposes — 19 percent
•    Yes, total legalization — 64 percent

Those who haven’t used marijuana:

•    No, not ever — 22 percent
•    No, not at this time — 24 percent
•    Yes, but only for medicinal purposes — 26 percent
•    Yes, total legalization — 27 percent
