Help the homeless make coats — MiraMed Family of Companies asks for donations

The MiraMed Family of Companies provided statistics on homelessness in the U.S., encouraging donations to its newly launched charitable campaign.

Here's what you should know:

1. Homelessness is a major issue in several U.S. cities. In 2018, there were 76,501 homeless individuals in New York City, 55,188 in Los Angeles, 11,643 in Seattle, 6,135 in Boston and 3,789 in Dallas.

2. MiraMed partnered with Empowerment Plan, a nonprofit focused on removing families from the cycle of homelessness, to create the MiraMed Circle of Warmth Campaign. The campaign provides single parents from local shelters with seamstress training and employment.
