FDA Appoints Dr. Rafael Miguel to Anesthetic and Analgesic Drug Products Advisory Committee

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration appointed Rafael Miguel, MD, to its Anesthetic and Analgesic Drug Products Advisory Committee.

Dr. Miguel is a past president of the Florida Society of Anesthesiologists. He focuses on pain medicine and has a practice affiliated with the University of South Florida with clinics in Tampa and Sarasota.

The 13-member advisory committee is charged with reviewing and evaluating data regarding the safety and effectiveness of drugs used in anesthesiology and surgery, and formulating recommendations to the FDA commissioner.
