Steven Barker, PhD, MD, received the Harvey W. Weiley Lifetime Achievement Award at the Innovations and Applications of Monitoring Perfusion, Oxygenation, and Ventilation Symposium in Tokyo, Japan.

1. Dr. Baker is the chairman of the scientific advisory board and chief science officer at Masimo.

2. He has previously chaired the department of anesthesiology at University of California, Irvine and University of Arizona in Tucson.

3. He has published over 150 scholarly works, including 15 textbook chapters.

4. He also served for seven years as the American Society of Anesthesiologists’ director for academic anesthesiology.
