Dr. Joshua Goldner to use 'more sustainable protocol' at new pain management office

Pain management physician Joshua Goldner, MD, opened an office shortly after joining Cleveland-based St. Vincent Charity Medical Center, according to Cleveland Jewish News.

Five insights:

1. Dr. Goldner opened the office in Beachwood, Ohio, to address a need for pain management services driven by "the shift from opioid management to address pain to a multimodal approach."

2. Dr. Goldner said the new office, which offers acupuncture, physical therapy and imaging services, is in an accessible location.

3. Dr. Goldner's responsibility as a medical professional, he told CJN, is to educate patients about their options for managing chronic pain and tailor treatments to meet their needs.

4. Opioids are a leading cause of accidental deaths and don't create meaningful improvement in pain, Dr. Goldner told CJN. He aims to "develop a more sustainable protocol for a patient's pain management."

5. He plans to implement pain management techniques as they emerge and expand his practice into the Cleveland area if the need arises.
