Dr. John Tinker dies at 74 years: 3 points

Anesthesiologist John Tinker, MD, has passed away at the age of 74, according to an ABC 8 report.

1. Dr. Tinker served as professor and chair of the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s Department of Anesthesiology from 1997 to 2008.

2. He also served as chief of cardiovascular anesthesiology at the Mayo Clinic from 1978 to 1983.

3. His research interests centered on coronary physiology and anesthetics, cardiopulmonary bypass physiology, anesthesia risk and risk management, as well as operating room management.
