Dr. Emery Brown joins National Academy of Engineering

Anesthesiologist Emery Brown, MD, PhD, was elected to join the National Academy of Engineering, according to an ASA report.

Dr. Brown is the Warren M. Zapol Professor of Anaesthesia at Harvard Medical School and the Edward Hood Taplin Professor of Medical Engineering and Computational Neuroscience at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, both located in Boston. He is also a practicing anesthesiologist at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He is a member of the American Academy of Anesthesiologists.

Dr. Brown is already a member in the Institute of Medicine and the National Academy of Sciences. He is now one of only 19 individuals, as well as the first anesthesiologist, to belong to all three national academies.
