Anesthesiologist Brian Barki, MD, has joined Africa Mercy, a hospital on a ship that provides free medical care to those in need in Africa, according to The Oklahoman.

2. He left in 2015 to pursue opportunities with Mercy Ships, an organization that aims to improve access to care for needy populations around the world.

3. Dr. Barki will manage the anesthesia department on Africa Mercy.

4. He completed his medical training at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in Oklahoma City.
